"I consider offers made on Twitter to be of good faith." Absolutely! Look me up next time you're in Colorado and we'll enjoy a few New Belgium brews. :-)

3 kids! You are brave and bold! Of course, there's not ALWAYS two people. But this is a story that creeps up a lot, especially in the world of "motivational" people. They praise the person who "does what they love" and then criticize the person who goes for stability (often supporting the one who does what they love).

I find it to be insulting to a lot of people. Having a job that you love is not what everyone wants. And I respect people who may hate their jobs, but love their life.

AS to you, Ryan, you get to be the hero two times!

PS. I haven't forgotten your offer to buy me beer if I am in Colorado. I consider offers made on Twitter to be of good faith. New Belgium, here I come...(as soon as I make it back over the Pacific)!

While I agree that Person #2 is a hero in this story, I disagree that there are always two people earning an income. In my case, I've had no safety net -- no Person #2 -- to back me up. It's just me, Person #1, my wife and 3 kids. :-)
